Rotational Molding of Utah was established in the fall of 1992. The early days consisted of a single product line produced on a single machine with an eight-foot oven dimension. RMU rented a small warehouse of 3,000 square feet to begin operations.
After a couple years of growth, the company expanded to new facilities and added additional machines. Today, the company continues to be a successful business that utilizes 5 manufacturing buildings with well over 50,000 square feet of manufacturing space. On the premises, the company owns and operates eight rotational molding machines including a shuttle machine that has double the capacity of normal clamshell machines. This gives Rotational Molding of Utah much greater flexibility in the size and quantities of products produced. Currently, well over 200 product lines are being produced. Grinders, mixers and other recycling equipment are included in the operation.
In 2001, Rotational Molding of Utah developed a very successful and innovative compression molding operation. Using unique and patented manufacturing technology, RMU is able to produce superior products designs and use the least expensive plastic recycling streams available. This superior cost and quality advantage has provided some excellent growth opportunities and is making a very significant impact in many industries. Currently, RMU uses 8 hydraulic presses (up to 750 tons) and 4 plastic processing machines in its operation.
